Cobham Sports - Pre Season Friendly’s
Footy NewsCobham Sports have have arranged some quality pre-season matches at their Merley Lane ground. The highlight being newly promoted to the league Torquay United on the 20th July KO 7pm. Other pre season matches include:

• Saturday 11th July (away) Lyndhurst KO 3pm
• Tuesday 14th July (home) Poole Town KO 7pm
• Thursday 16th July (home) Colden Common KO 7pm
• Monday 20th July (home) Torquay United KO 7pm

Hamworthy Rec - Pre Season Friendly

HOLT UNITED 3 WESTLAND SPORTS 0
Holt United still with a chance of a 3rd place finish beat their visitors from Westland Sports 3-0 to move up a place and into 5th place. Simon Edwards put Holt in front after only six minutes and quickly doubled their score with an own goal from the Sports defender Mark Perkins in the 15th minute. Holt United completed their scoring in the last minute with a goal from Rob Brackley. This was Holts 17th league victory while the Sports were tasting defeat for only the 5th time and completed their season in 6th spot.
Holt United finish their season off away at Chickerell United next Saturday.

WINCANTON TOWN 7 BRIDPORT RESERVES 2
Wincanton Town are certainly finishing their season of with a flourish of goals seven at Portland in mid week and another seven against their visitors from Bridport in their latest game with their marksmen against the Bees being Brad Peters with a hat trick and one apiece from Mike Cooper, Darren White, Nick Ward and Alex Tremlett. This was the Towns 14th win of the season that leaves them in 8th place. Bridport stay in and will finish in 10th place.
Wincantons Towns final game is on Tuesday night when they entertain Chickerell United.

CHICKERELL UNITED 4 STURMINSTER MARSHALL 1
Chickerell United moved up in to the top four with a 4-1 success against their visitors from Sturminster Marshall following on their mid week victory and have moved their unbeaten record on to 17 their last defeat being in early January. On target for the Chickens were Nick Etherington with a brace and one each for Warren White and Craig Roper. Victory in their last two matches would give the runners up spot to the Chickens in this their first season and they are also finalists in the League Cup Final on Tuesday what an important week for them.

HOLT UNITED 2 HAMWORTHY RECREATION 2
Holt United moved back into the top five despite only taking a point against their visitors from Hamworthy Recreation with a 2-2 draw. Hamworthy started off well and took the lead inside the first 5 minute through Chris Rigler but Holt hit back to equalise through Steve Devlin in the 35th minute and then he put his side in front with his second goal in the 84th minute only for Tom Willis to go down the other end to bring the scores level again with 5 minutes left. This was Recreation last game of the season and at present they are in third place.

POOLE BOROUGH 2 WESTLAND SPORTS 1
Poole Borough stay in second place following their odd goal in three win against their visitors from Westland Sports, The Hornets took the lead after 20 minutes through Lukasz Kozlowski but it was one all after 33minutes when the Sports struck back through Jack Williams but it was that man Lukasz Kozlowski who scored again in the 34th minute to give Borough their 17th win of the season. This defeat for Westland was only their 4th which sees them slip to 6th place.

PORTLAND UNITED 2 STURMINSTER NEWTON UNITED 0
Portland United secured their second league title in a row when they defeated their visitors for Sturminster Newton with two first half goals from Lewis Whyton in the 10th minute and John Lamb in the 35th minute. They could go on and do the League / Cup double on Tuesday which they have done twice before but they first have to over come an in form Chickerell United.

The Leagues presentation party of Alan Burt the President and Mike Mock the Chairman were there to present Portland United with their awards.

WINCANTON TOWN 1 CRANBORNE 1
Cranborne completed their season with a creditable draw against their hosts Wincanton Town to finish in 11th place. On target for the Town was Richard Leach .Wincanton still have three games to fit in this week and can at best finish in 8th place.

BRIDPORT RESERVES 0 CRANBORNE 0
Bridport stay in 10th place following their goal less draw against their visitors from Cranborne. The point for the Cranes moved them up a place to 12th.

HOLT UNITED 4 WINCANTON TOWN 1
Holt United kept up their recent good form with a 4-1 victory over their visitors from Wincanton Town. Holt took the lead in the 7th minutes with a strike from Pepe Smith and doubled their lead in the 20th minute through Darren Facer and two minutes later Stev Devlin made it three nil. Wincanton reduced the arrears in the 53rd minute with a goal from Darren White. Darren Facer with his second goal completed the Holt scoring to give his side their 15th win that keeps them in 7th spot.

STURMINSTER NEWTON UNITED 2 POOLE BOROUGH 3
Poole Borough stay in second place after their odd goal in five win at Sturminster Newton but had to come from a goal down to take maximum points. Stuart Freer with a penalty conversion gave Sturminster the lead in the 35th minute but the Hornets hit back to draw level with a goal from James Pander and took the lead just before the break with a goal from Ken Strong but a second penalty conversion by Stuart Freer brought the scores level 3 minutes into the second half. Poole gained their 16th win with a second goal from James Pender in the 75th minute. This was Sturminsters 12th League defeat but they stay in 9th place.

CHICKERELL UNITED 1 SWANAGE TOWN & HERSTON 0
Chickerell United kept up their unbeaten record since 3rd January with a single goal success against their visitors from Swanage and stay in the top six with their marksmen being Ashley Smith. This was the Swans 8th defeat which sees them drop to third place with this their last match. This was the Chickens 13th league victory.

COBHAM SPORTS 0 CRANBORNE 2
Hitting the bottom of the league following their defeat in midweek Cranborne moved up three places with a 2-0 victory against their hosts Cobham Sports and hence demote the Sports into the bottom three.

HAMWORTHY RECREATION 1 WESTLAND SPORTS 0
Hamworthy Recreation moved back into the top four with a one nil win against their visitors from Westland Sports.
The Hamworthy goal came on the hour from Chris Rigler. This was the Sports only second defeat as they slip to fifth place but have three games in hand of the leaders but are 11 points adrift.

POOLE BOROUGH 4 HOLT UNITED 1
Poole Borough moved back into the runners up spot with a 4-1 win against their visitors from Holt United. The Hornets took the lead in the 12th minutes with a goal from Rodrigo Ponds and Joe Toghill doubled the score in the 21st minute only for Holt to hit back to reduce the arrears through Peppi Smith five minutes before the break. Poole Borough restored their two goal lead when Pons scored his second in the 51st minute and the same player went on to complete his hat trick in the 73rd minutes to make the game and points safe for Borough. This was Holts 7th league defeat but they stay in 7th place

PORTLAND UNITED 1 STURMINSTER MARSHALL 0
Following their defeat in midweek Portland United took another step towards retaining their League crown when they defeated bottom club Sturminster Marshall by only a single strike by Sam Clarke. Sturminster Marshall with their 18th defeat are still one point adrift at the bottom but have three games left to retrieve the situation.

WINCANTON TOWN 2 BLANDFORD UNITED
Wincanton Town stay in mid table following their 2-0 victory against their visitors from Blandford with two second half goals from Gavin Bendall and Alex Tremlett. Blandford after their midweek defeat as well now slip into the bottom two

BLANDFORD UNITED 0 PORTLAND UNITED 3
Portland United maintained their five point lead in pole position following their 3-0 success at Blandford. Chris reader put the Islanders in front in the 31st minute and the same player made it two nil on the hour before Adam Linaker made the game safe in the 65th minute to keep Portland on track for the cup and league double. This was the Blandford's 15th defeat but they stay in 11th place.

COBHAM SPORTS 2 WESTLAND SPORTS 2
Cobham Sports stay in the bottom two despite sharing four goals and the points against their visitors from Westland Sports with their marksmen being John Lever and Kabba Jack. This was Westland’s 8th draw of the season but they stay in fifth spot but have four games in hand of the leaders but are 14 points adrift.

CRANBORNE 0 BRIDPORT RESERVES 1
Cranborne slipped into the bottom three following their single goal defeat by their visitors from Bridport. Giving the Bees their 8th League win was William Boyer to keep them in 10th place while the Cranes were tasting defeat for the 15th time.

HOLT UNITED 5 HAMWORTHY UNITED RESERVES 2
Holt United made it three wins in a row when they defeated their visitors from Hamworthy United 5-2 but had to come from behind twice to do so. The Hammers took the lead in the 14th minute with a goal from a penalty conversion by Garry Williams but Holt hit back to equalise through Pepi Smith five minutes later. The Hammers restored their lead with a strike from Mark Claremont on the half hour only for Pepi Smith to bring the scores level again with his second goal just before the break. It was Holt who took control in the second half and scored three times through Darran Facer, Steve Devlin and substitute Simon Edwards. This was Holt's 13th League victory and they remain in 6th place while the Hammers remain back in 12th place.

POOLE BOROUGH 2 WINCANTON TOWN 2
Poole Borough having moved into second spot with their midweek win slipped back into third place after they shared four goals and the points with their visitors from Wincanton Town. Wincanton raced into a two goal lead through Alex Tremlett and Chris Pullen in the first twenty minutes but two goals from Rodrigo Pons coming in the 37th and 92nd minutes saved the day for the Hornets. This point keeps the visitors in mid table.

SWANAGE TOWN & HERSTON 4 STURMINSTER NEWTON UNITED 0
Swanage Town & Herston returned to the top two when they kept up their recent form (Only one defeat in eight games)
with a 4-0 success over their visitors from Sturminster Newton a goal up at the break through Jacob Harrop they went on to score a further three times with goals from Jamie Holland, Lee James and Anthony Warrington. This was the Swans 15th League win while their visitors were losing out for the 9th time but stay in 9th place.

Chickerell United won 6-5 0n penalties
The League new boys this season Chickerell United have reached the League Cup Final at their first attempt when they defeated the cup holders Hamworthy Recreation 6-5 in a penalty shoot out after the scores were tied at one all after extra time and will now play Portland United. Chickerell United took the lead after only 6 minutes when the Hamworthy Keeper punched the ball into his own net, this is the first time the Chickens have found the net in four games against the Recreation this season. Ashley Boyt brought the score level in the 75th minute to take the game in to extra time and then on to the penalty shoot out.

The Irvin Brown Memorial Match
Footy NewsSanro writes "The Irvin Brown Memorial Ground (Sponsored by Hamworthy Car Sales)will take place at the County Ground on Saturday 30th May ko 11.00am.
The game will once again be played between two veteran teams representing HUFC and Hamworthy Recreation FC. The new Irvin Brown Stand much of which was paid for by this event will be officially opened before the game by Irvin's Family.
There will be lots of family entertainment apart from the football for all to enjoy.
