Swanage Town & Herston first team manager Derek Beale has resigned his position at the Club.
Swanage Town & Herston first team manager Derek Beale has resigned his position at the Club, following the completion of the season's league programme on Saturday, where his side finished bottom of the Dorset Premier League table.
However, Beale had actually handed his notice in to the Football Club Management Committee over a month ago, but then agreed to stay in the role until the end of this, his fourth season in charge.
As planned, the Football Club now can announce Derek's departure and everyone at the Club would like to thank Derek for all his time, efforts and hard work over the past few years.

| LEAGUE CUP FINAL - RESULT TUESDAY 29 APRIL 2008 |
|

HAMWORTHY RECREATION 3-0 WESTLAND SPORTS
Hamworthy Recreation retained the League Cup in a closer game than the score
suggests against Westland Sports 3-0.Hamworthy had the better of the early exchanges
but the Sports gradually eased their way into the game and had two headers just
shave the bar and brought out two fantastic saves from Recreations goal keeper
Kevin Leonard, then on twenty-nine minutes the man of the match Mike Nutley
put Hamworthy in front and then from then on it was a very even affair with
the game switching from end to end .
The Sports thought they had equalised but the goal was disallowed after 75minutes
and still pressing forward for the equaliser the Sports conceded two further
goals, one in the 85th minute through Chris Rigger and in one in the 90th minute
when Mike Notley scored his second. This was a good performance by the Sports
who were without their entire strike force though injury.
The presentations after the game were made by Alan Burt the Dorset Premier League
President to the two sides, he also presented the Jewsons player of the
match award that went to Mike Nutley who was perhaps the difference between
the two sides.
